Culture Grams offers a large variety of information on states, provinces and countries all over the world. The Information that is given is interesting and seems like it is current. The information is great and would have been welcomed by me when I was in elementary school. Culture Grams is fairly easy to navigate. While checking out the site I had no problems finding what I was looking for and more. I think that as a teacher this information would be very useful, especially for finding out quirky information about the state, or country. It would be extremely useful for students who are trying to find out more about the state they are currently living in or about other states. It could be used for State/Country reports as well. Overall, this is a great resource with a lot of potential to learn.
Ebsco offers an enormous amount of information on anything from academically acclaimed magazine articles to kids search engines to a Media search. The quality of information is great. In the academic search you can find up to date articles and peer reviewed journals or you can go back several decades and find information as well. The children's search engine (searchasaurus) is an easier engine for kids to use, giving more accurate responses to what has been searched for.Ebsco is easy to navigate and offers many ways to pinpoint a more accurate response to the search as I would like to be a 5th grade teacher I think that the Searchasaurus would be beneficial to the students as well as the image search. I also think that the academic search would be useful when talking about the Social Sciences.I would have my students use the Searchasaurus. I really can't say enough about how it does a much better job at filtering out the junk that comes by using a normal search engine. Also by using Searchasaurus the students would be more protected from the inappropriate nature of the internet.

The Library of Congress is a virtual amusement park when it comes to historical or present day documents, books, magazines etc. There is so much to find on this site, one could spend days looking through everything and not be anywhere near the end. The quality of information is great. There are a few things that are difficult to read but just magnifying the text helps. There is current information as well as historical information as well. It seems to be fairly easy to navigate, I was only able to scratch the surface of this site but what I saw was very easy to get to and all the information was pertinent to the subject I chose. There are a variety of things as an educator I could do with this site, especially where I want to focus on Social Studies, what a great resource for learning about and seeing early documents from our nations history. A student could put this site to use not only on an elementary school level but all the way through college as well. There is so much information available. The only downside is that it is a little daunting but that is a minor thing to be worrying about.
